Teach the future
Sharing the urgency of improving and enhancing education in tune with technology, Intel, as a part of the Intel Innovation in Education initiative has started the ‘‘Intel Teach to the Future’’ programme.
The programme is a worldwide initiative to help classroom teachers learn how best to use technology to ameliorate teaching and learning. To benefit Indian teachers and the students, Intel joined hands with the Government at the Central, State and local levels towards the broad deployment of computer-aided learning in schools across the country.
With the help of this programme teachers not only learn about their subjects’ presentation, but, through collaboration with other teachers, get an idea about other subjects as well.
Elaborating Intel South Asia regional education manager, Debjani Ghosh said: ‘‘We began this programme in February 2000 and have just finished teaching 1,80,811 school teachers in 35 cities nationwide. Notably, our ultimate goal is to help students.’’
Celebrating its achievement, Intel India recently honoured teachers and schools trained under this programme, in its ‘Best Integration of Technology in Education’ ceremony. These teachers and schools have revolutionised the way teachers teach and students learn through the effective integration of computer technology and the internet into the classroom.
